Irinox S.p.A., a benefit corporation, has established a solid and fruitful collaboration with the Competence Center Smact. This synergy aims to support the company in the development of three projects with the goal of increasing technology and innovation in both products and processes.
The FRED.ED project (B17H25001190004), financed with an amount of €200,000 by the EuropeanX– Next Generation EU through IRISS calls, developed by Irinox with SMACT within the IRISS framework, introduced solutions based on Machine Learning, IoT, and Blockchain to optimize cold chain management. In collaboration with Digital Strategy Innovation and Connect Reply, energy consumption estimation and predictive maintenance functionalities were implemented on FreshCloud®, while SID Scuola Italiana Design took care of the new user interface. Together with EZ Lab Blockchain Solutions and Connect Reply, a digital product passport was also developed.
The VIS.IO project (H19J24001010004), financed with an amount of €100,000 by the EuropeanX– Next Generation EU through IRISS calls, developed by IRINOX SpA – Benefit Corporation with SMACT, led to the development of a new intelligent feature on FreshCloud® for monitoring product expiration dates. In collaboration with FlexSight, Irinox created an Artificial Intelligence system for food traceability in storage units, contributing to the reduction of food waste.
Alongside these, the IRPEM project (H19J25000030004), financed with an amount of €100,000 by the EuropeanX– Next Generation EU through IRISS calls, developed by IRINOX SpA – Benefit Corporation with SMACT within the IRISS framework, aims to simplify and accelerate design processes, improving overall product development efficiency.
Taken together, these projects reaffirm Irinox’s commitment to the development of advanced and sustainable digital solutions capable of generating value for customers and end users. Technological innovation thus becomes a key element in improving efficiency, service quality, and environmental responsibility.
